We took a trip down to Brighton - a few friends were going down so we packed up the car and drove ourselves down to the beach. It was wet and dark when we arrived, but we hit up the Royal Pavilion anyway. We heard all about fat King George IV and I was incredibly impressed with the chandeliers and the history. It's the only royal palace not owned by the monarchy. Very swish.
After an epic run through the rain to the pub for dinner, and a few rounds of Exploding Kittens, we said gbye to our friends and set out to explore Brighton, just us two. Turns out my Grandma was born there, and so we went down to the address on her birth certificate. We wandered the lanes, went down to the beach to be buffeted by the winds and stopped by the aquarium as a nice (indoor) thing to do. I'm glad we did, because we got a little tour behind the scenes and got to admire the baby little stingrays. Very impressive!
All in all, a fab weekend away.
