I'm a huge fan of roadtrips. I love sightseeing. I love stopping in random out of the way places to take a jumping shot in front of some random sign. I love visiting the random things there are to do on the way. Discovering things like the best honey icecream place ever. Or an adventure challenge that is impossible (unless your Lyth) to complete.
I love the NZ countryside, right now, too. The rolling hills, and paddock after paddock of smelly cows. Sheds that are falling down. The wide open spaces. I've been sucking in every last nuance in the last few roadtrips. Generally, we go the snow, which is a 3-4 hr drive down the country. Sometimes the Corromandel (a 1-2 hr drive), so we can go sit on the beaches. Enjoying the sun, and the sand and the salt. Sometimes we venture up north, just to have a look see. Stop somewhere for a swim. Somewhere else for Fish + Chips.
In the upcoming months (6+ months), I'm sure there are going to be many roadtrips. I'm still organising details. I've been promised a road trip to visit a friend that lives somewhere between Lyon (in France!) and Geneve (in Switzerland!). Another new friend suggested a giant road trip, from London to Cape Town (!!). I'm not sure if this will happen, but if it does it'll be a massive undertaking. I'm sure if it becomes a reality you'll hear about it.
