I spent one afternoon in the sun digging up a patch, mixing in fertiliser, putting plants in the ground, getting my knees dirty. And a few months later, with diligent watering and an awful lot of waiting + dancing around in the garden I was rewarded with strawberries.

I can’t even begin to explain the satisfaction and delight I got out of a growing these.
So yes, Number 94 on The List, Done!

Don’t let the birds eat them! That’s what happened to ours. Also, your knees look weird. <3
Your face looks weird! And no, I didn’t. I had mesh netting to keep them out, and tin foil on sticks to scare them away :)
Yay!
Super yay! :)
Strawberries are my favorite!! Glad the hard work paid off :)
Me too! I was ridiculously proud, considering how little I did :)
YEAH! That’s AWESOME!!! I tried growing them once and I got a couple of berries, but probably neglected them more than I ought to have and was mostly unsuccessful. Yours are lovely! Are you cooking with any of them?
Watering is the key, I think. I didn’t end up cooking with them. I didn’t have the patience really. Mostly I washed them off and ate them right then + there! :)
