I’m a Harry Potter fan. I’ve read all the books more than once. I’ve seen all the movies more than once. I back when I was on livejournal I even went through a phase of reading Harry Potter fanfiction. A lot of it. I’m a HP nerd. And I know that a lot of you guys are too, or else I’d be too shamed out to admit that I ever read fanfaction.

So, imagine my excitement when I could visit some of the places that Harry Potter was filmed. It’s been one of the more exciting things about moving over here. I’ve visited the Elephant House (where JKR wrote the first book) already, and a few weeks ago I hit a few other places:

The Millennium Bridge

It’s kind of amusing that they used this bridge. When people walk across a bridge they naturally start walking in sync with each other. This created a natural wave (or something, I’m not a physicist) which caused the bridge to wobble on a charity walk.

Entrance to the Leaky Cauldron

Otherwise known as a flowershop at the Borough Markets :)

There are a few more places I’d like to hit up but haven’t yet had the opportunity. Places like the Reptile House at London Zoo, or figure out how to break into Australia House, the Australian embassy in London to see the inside of Gringotts. There’s the Visitor’s Entrance to the Ministry of Magic (aka Great Scotland Yard) and Diagon Alley (the Leadenhall Market) and Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross. There is more outside of London, and I’ll get to it all eventually.

And I’m going to the premier. With my best friend I’m going to spend all day near staking out a spot near the barriers, and then I’m going to get excited like a total fangirl when the trio + Tom Felton take the two minutes to walk the red carpet. It’s going to be worth it. It’s going to be amazing.

How many of you out there are fellow HP nerds?
