is FINALLY HERE! Hurrah! I was able to eat the first from our tree yesterday. I love this part of the year, when eating Feijoas (my favourite fruit, for SERIOUS) is still new and you haven’t been bombarded by too much of it yet.

I devoured the two that I collected up this morning. I can’t wait till there’s enough to eat with icecream.

Woo hoo! Summer fruit (peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums) are my favourite… but Feijoas are at the top of my list too.

It’s funny how much some German people LOVE Feijoas. They don’t have them over there and I’ve seen someone almost live on them when they were in season, lol.

@Heidi – haha, that’s awesome! I agree, I love summer fruits the most. I hang out for Feijoas ALL YEAR! When I was away one summer, and I didn’t get back to nz till after the feijoa season I was SO gutted I’d missed it, until my friend had said that he froze some for later in the year. Haha, so I totally understand the people that can almost live on them :)

I love love love feijoas! I remember going to NZ in November with such dismay that I couldn’t find any!

  4. I can honestly say that I’ve never even heard of Feijoas. I’ll need to see if I can find them sometime because you’ve made them sound worth finding.

@Emily – me too! If I could get around the postal rules, and I thought they’d make it edible I’d send you some! Alas, you’ll have to come back when they are in season (March/April) :)

@Maggie – If you can find some, they are totally WORTH it. They really are divine!
